Clean Water

Clean Water

The average life expectancy in Haiti is 63.18, which is the lowest in the Western Hemisphere. Unfortunately, life expectancy is even lower in the Chardonnette region. Unsafe water results in epidemics of typhoid, cholera, chronic diarrhea and other parasitic diseases, which kill more than 35 residents in the region each year.
Residents identified water as their greatest need, because their source water is rain runoff and spring water, which often become polluted sitting in open pits. Reviving Haiti delivered by constructing clean water reservoirs in Chardonnette.

This is a major step forward in reducing morbidly and mortality. But Chardonnette is not the only region that needs access to clean water. Our work in this area needs to expand.
